Location/Directions:
The museum is NOT located on the Eglin Air Force Base installation and is accessible to all. The museum’s address is 100 Museum Drive, Eglin AFB, FL 32542. If coming from Fort Walton Beach, take Highway 85 North (follow the signs for the airport). The museum is located directly off Highway 85 just north of Shalimar.
Admission:
Admission into the Air Force Armament Museum is free! However, monetary donations are welcome and appreciated as they enable us to maintain the national collection and keep the doors open. View the museum brochure here (opens in a new tab).
Operating Hours:
The interior of the museum is open Sunday through Saturday from 9am – 5pm. The outside airpark is open 7 days a week from sunup to sundown. The interior of the museum is closed on the following holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day.
Food & Drink:
Food and drink are not permitted inside the museum. However, water in clear containers is permitted. There are several picnic tables in the Air Park that visitors are free to use for snacking and meals.
Restrooms:
The museum has several handicap accessible restrooms visitors can use while touring the collection, located just behind the main entrance lobby.
Pets:
Pets are not allowed, but registered service dogs are always welcome.
General Parking:
Parking is free at the museum! Please note, the parking lot cannot be used as a park-and-ride. Vehicles left overnight may be towed at the owner’s expense.
RV & Bus Parking:
There is no dedicated RV or bus parking at the museum, however, larger vehicles can park on the south end of the parking lot if spaces are available.
Photography:
Photos or videos for personal use are permitted.
Photos or videos taken for profit or to promote a business, brand, or to be entered in a contest for monetary gain are NOT permitted.
Guests are NOT permitted to go behind the ropes, move any exhibits, or disrupt visitors to take photos or video.
Wheelchairs:
The museum has a limited quantity of wheelchairs for our guests to use free of charge. These items are available by inquiring with the front desk volunteer in the main entrance.
Guided Tours:
The Armament Museum is happy to offer volunteer guided tours to groups of five or more people! This is an hour to an hour and a half tour that covers the history of Eglin Air Force Base and information about key exhibits at the museum. Tours may be requested by contacting Brian Olmsted at 850-882-4151 or brian.olmsted@us.af.mil at least two weeks in advance.

Field Trips and Tours

Museum Rules
- No Unsupervised Children or Youth Groups – All children and youth groups must be accompanied by supervising adults.
- No Climbing on any exhibits
- No Bicycles, Skate Boards, Skates, Roller Blades or Roller Shoes, Running, Horseplay, or Loud Behavior
- No Crossing of Roped or Barricaded Areas
- No Smoking Inside any Building, Aircraft or Exhibit
- No Intoxicated Persons or Illegal Drug Use Permitted
- Shoes, Shirts and other Appropriate Attire Must Be Worn
- No Glass Containers
- No Guns, Knives or other Weapons are Permitted
- No Drones
